GET IN THE VAN!

Tour...anyday...anyplace.
Tizio didn't know of a translation for the old chestnut:
"get in the van!"
...as he said Italian didn't have our cool word, "GET!"
Think about it, what does 'get' mean? exactly.
Get some sleep. Get me the map. Get Smart!

In German Gabriel blows a trombone, in English a trumpet! How to ever 'get' anything right.
I am not much of a linguist or hard-thinker in the philosophical sense, but I do like watching words & stories get lost in translation & then finding what gets found.

Get a HAIRCUT!

all about the food...

The sausage bar.

The cappuccino bar.

Il Pranzo.

Sunday, June 6th, Porto Cesareo. We head to GianniMaria's house for a back-yard party. A short drive with time for lunch & a trip to the beach. I give up vegetarianism with a vengeance here in Italy. Why not? I eat some sausage at Maria Grazia's, & some crab & fish & who-knows-what-else here in Porto Cesareo at the 'best-meal-out-ever' as we called it, an all-american hot-dog on a crustini at 4am in a squat in Udine & that's just the parts I remember! Italy has a good thing about food. You think about it, watch some people fussing over it & making it, & finally you sit down & enjoy it; play some music, grab a nappuccino, & do it all over again the next day. Tizio looks like he's praying. Maybe praying for another meal like this.
